Manager Enhanced Triage

  • Mental Health Triage based in Shepparton
  • Permanent Full Time
  • 80 hours per fortnight (including monthly ADO)

About the role

The Triage Service is a telephone based triage service and is one of two entry points into the Mental Health Program- the other being the Emergency Departments. As such it is crucial to the referral process across all sites where a Mental Health Assessment is required. It includes all referrals into the Adult, Child and Adolescent (CAMHS) and Aged Mental Health Service. This position is integral to ensuring that the program runs in an efficient manner.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a management role for an experienced mental health clinician with experience in telephone triage and assessment of consumers suffering mental illness.  The Manager will be responsible for the effective coordination of triage for all consumers seeking services from Goulburn Valley Area Mental Health.

 We are looking for:

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist with membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers if applicable
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Social Work Occupational Therapy or Psychology
  • A minimum of 5 years clinical experience post obtainment of relevant qualification
  • Demonstrated ability to provide professional leadership, support and supervision to other team members.
  • Knowledge and sound understanding of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation.

Triage Clinician

  • Enhanced Triage Team based in Shepparton
  • Permanent Full Time
  • 80 hours per fortnight (including ADO every 4 weeks)

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified triage clinician to be part of our front line service.  The role requires excellent clinical skills to determine risk, eligibility for service and timeframe for a response.  It is a 24 hour service so there will be some shift work involved. Night triage will need to also attend Emergency Department to provide assessments for mental health patients presenting there.

We are looking for:

  • Qualifications, RPN 4 or equivalent
  • 5 years mental health experience.
  • Excellent clinical skills
  • Excellent communication skills.
